New Wellness Center Coordinator Hired
Wilmington, NC –The Davis Community announces Joseph Rouse as the new Wellness Center Coordinator for the Wellness and Rehabilitation Pavilion slated to open in September 2010. A native North Carolinian and UNCW alumnus with a degree in Physical Education and Health with a Concentration in Exercise Science, Joseph previously served as a Therapy Technician charged with coordinating inpatient and outpatient therapies. Rouse facilitated community wellness programs while simultaneously running a personal training fitness center for seniors; he is currently finalizing his certification as a Clinical Exercise Specialist.
“I am very passionate about helping people achieve their personal wellness goals and disproving many of the common myths that surround physical fitness of the senior population. I feel that with accepting this job at the Joseph and Elsa Flower Davies Wellness Center I have an opportunity to assist in permanently changing peoples’ lives for the better. The opening of this new center is big step in the right direction to obtaining a healthier community for the senior population and I could not be more excited to be a part of it from the very beginning.”
The new Wellness and Rehabilitation Pavilion will include an innovative S.P.A. (Seniors Pursuing Active) Living Program for aging adults inside the Joseph and Elsa Flower Davies Wellness Center. Rouse will spearhead the S.P.A. Living Program and corresponding wellness activities for seniors including aqua therapy, personalized exercise routines, and wellness classes.
