Senior Fitness & Wellness
Located in Wilmington, North Carolina, the Joseph B. and Elsa Flower Davies Wellness Center is part of a 25,000 square Rehabilitation and Wellness Pavilion. The Wellness Center is designed for individuals age 55 and better and features a fitness center, aquatics center, group exercise classroom, and monthly wellness seminars. We utilize a unique program known as the SPA Living™ Program (Seniors Pursuing Active Living). With this program we are able to take a holistic approach which encompasses all 7 aspects of wellness:
At The Davis Community, we understand that everyone is different and that your journey to personal wellness should be individualized. Because of this we offer several services to assist in developing a comprehensive yet personalized plan. These services include:
-Fitness Assessment and Consultation
-Personalized Exercise Prescription
-Aquatic and Land Group Exercise Classes (Class Calendar Link)
-Monthly Wellness Seminars
-Quarterly Celebrations including Active Aging Week, National Senior Health and Fitness Day, and National memory Screening Day. We host a staff of educated and qualified professionals at The Davis Community.
Each staff has had specific training from the Arthritis Foundation in Aquatics and Land exercise programming as well as holds a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the health and wellness field. To learn more about our qualified staff, click here.
